The following letter has been published by Grand Lodge to all Brethren in Nova Scotia.
March 15, 2021
Dear Brethren,
It has been almost a year since we have had to close the Lodges due to the Covid Virus; a very long year.
There is hope in the way of vaccines, which are slowly making their way into the arms of Nova Scotians, and hope that we can re-open the Lodges again for ‘Regular Work’ before the year is out, possibly in November or December, or even sooner if the Government Restrictions allow.
Many Lodges have found innovative ways to Fund Raise and to keep the Comradeship and Brotherly Love of Freemasonry alive during this very trying time, and also keep the Lodges themselves solvent.
It has been decided to have a very ‘bare bones’ Installation of your Line Officers and DDGMs at Freemasons Hall in the Dining Room on June 5th of this year with no visitors from other jurisdictions and no one else but the necessary persons present to assist with the Installation. No Business will be conducted and no Motions entertained. Those will be on the Agenda at the 2022 Annual Meeting.
There will be a Ballot conducted shortly (details still being worked on) to elect the incoming Junior Grand Warden. The names still standing from 2020, being R. W. Bro. Quentin Hardy and R. W. Bro. Rick Crawford. Bio’s and Photographs will be provided when the Balloting begins.
The Lodge Secretaries are to be applauded for keeping the books and records straight and paying the bills during this down time and indeed all of you for your patience and understanding and for keeping safe from the unseen presence of this insidious threat.
I hope that you continue to stay safe my Brothers and hope that we can meet again very soon ‘On the level’.
Sincerely and fraternally,
George A. Grant
Most Worshipful Grand Master
